My father, Louie Montoya, was a member of the 192 AHC. He was killed in action in 1972. Thanks for the support and kind words. If there is anyone out there with photos of my father I would love to see them.
thanks, james

Hi guys, really nice site. Hadn't thought much about Nam in the past 40 years, until my grandsons started asking me about my time in the service. Googled LZ Betty and found several sites, including this one. Funny that the most recent post should be from Ken Printz, because I do remember you. I was with the 192nd from April '69 to March '70 (actually the 65th Signal detachment [avionics] until we were incorporated into the 192nd). We were still in tents when I got there (ours were next to our shop on the small bluff above the company area, next to the motor pool). Spent a bunch of time wiring the new hooches with Norman Kamm (Kamm Kamm the generator man). Most of the guys in avionics were shortimers when I got there. The ones I remember were Ron Morrisette, Richard? Davis, Edgar Allen Cooper, Skip ????, Steve Greneveld (he ran the radio station LAGH [let's all go home],SSgt. Jerry Dowden.

I served with 192nd from Aug 68 to Oct 70. I was in the motor pool as a PLL clerk at first. Remember the good and bad times at Phan Thiet. I ended up in the POL section on my second tour and can remember hauling several tanker loads of water to the showers and the mess hall and of course refueling aircraft. Hope to see you at St. Louis in Aug of 2010.

We all miss Louie very very much, and there really is'nt a day that we don't think of him. I asking anyone who may have photo's or just words of memory of the days spent with him. Anything that can let us know more about his tour of duty and that he was not alone. Thanks Ray Q God bless you all.
