I met Bob Foster and his wife Debbie this summer at the Four Seasons RV park on the Rougue River. I noticed his license plate frame with the 192nd AHC and we became instant old buddies. Had a great time talking about our adventures in Viet Nam. I was a pilot with the 282nd AHC out of Da Nang 1967--68. Black Cat 24. I was actually stationed in Hue Citidel. I am getting ready for the 282 reunion in Columbus Ga. Oct 9-10. and see old fireinds. My Lt just published a book Black Cat 2-1. Check it out. Great read for some one who has been there done that.

Admin reply: Just received an email today from Bob Davis saying that the Bob Foster mentioned by Richard Messer in the paragraph above was actually Bob Davis (not Bob Foster).

Re: 5/09/11 post

I am so glad someone contacted him tonight from his unit and this group. I had told him about this page but did not want to push it on him. I was hoping to find someone he knew to help him see it was ok, but tonight all it took was someone who was there and lived it like he did and he now had a very good outlook on going to a upcoming reunion.
He is such a great dad just had a ton of baggage and I know he needs this so..

Just to let everyone know I have submitted my latest book project to Hellgate Press who will be publishing "VOL 2, U.S. Army Helicopter Names In Vietnam". Should be ready for the VHCMA reunion in June. Features 600 new helicopter names. However, new NAMES can still be added right up until the final edit. Quality in-country nose art photos are welcomed as always. Happy New Year everyone.

having fun on line looking back. was a 'Bird Dog' airplane cc (183rd RAC, Seahorses, * * * name!) 8/68 to 3/69 at lovely Betty. ran across one of yours awhile back, there at same time, don't recall name. recall the Tet time of 69, was "short!" by the way my plane was named "Acapulco Gold", briefly. Didn't we all have a great time! peace to all!
